Learn 4 Life is a constantly growing network of public charter schools. Our first school opened in 2001 with 30 students. We now have dozens of locations and more than 5,000 students. We have resource centers throughout California, and each student receives an individualized education. No two students are alike, and we don’t educate them that way either.
Why are we here? The dropout problem is a serious one, with millions of students dropping out of school each year. Each high-school dropout creates a huge economic and social burden on our society. The traditional public school system is leaving these children behind. Years ago, our founders recognized the scope of that problem and decided to do something about it.
Our mission is a clear one: recover those students who have dropped out or who are in danger of dropping out. Get them into a school. Motivate them. Mentor them. Counsel them. And of course, teach them.
We give them an education. We show them what the world can be like if they are willing to work for it. We listen to them. And we give them hope.
Thousands of children in California have successfully graduated from a Learn 4 Life school. Many of our graduates have gone on to college. Some go straight into the work force. Some have taken the skills learned in our Career Technical Education program to begin a career rather than just a job. Regardless of the specific path they choose, they’re all productive members of our society.
Our schools have helped to revitalize communities. We strive to open resource centers as close to our students as possible. Many of our centers are in strip malls. Many of these strip malls use to be vacant, desolate, and abandoned. When we move in, other businesses follow, helping bring more jobs and tax revenue wherever we go. We help turn these areas around. We want to turn liquor stores into learning centers.
Learn4Life admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
